Mid-August 2008, I came up with the bright idea to open a bar in Bangkok Silom Soi 4 . As a flight attendant I was very often here. Some love, some hate Bangkok. I have always felt good here.
It was a Picture Gallery when we rented it. So, we had to make everything new. As the location wasn’t that big, i thought it would be good to make it more individual. So we called the Bar „BAS living room“ because my Thai Partner was the Face of the Bar. The concept was to build a trendy and cosy atmosphere with high quality drinks and cocktails.
To rent the Location was quite simple, and it ought to be no problem to find some craftsmen to build the interior. After that, it was not all that easy, We, means, me and my Thai partner decided to do everything by ourself. That took then a good 2 months. The entire planning, to buy toilets, cables, water pipes, all the Suff to cover the walls, etc., and then install everything, of course. hu hu, which was quite a feat. But we’ve done it, and then, actually not everything was ready, we opened on 30/10/2008.
It went slowly. But we were well received. New Year we had our first rehearsal. It was hell broke loose. From then on it went steadily uphill. Gradually we perfected the Interior and our cocktails. End of 2009 then, we where an integral part of the Nightlife in this area.
This project was my masterpiece.
All my experiences and skills I gained in the years before I was able to contribute to this project. And I was able to learn much new.
From creating the concept, to organize the building means, laying of cables, water pipes, installation of toilets, the laying of the tiles, the design and installation of the bar, the furniture, the design of the tables and bar stools, the selection of cocktails, the mix of music, the shapes of the cocktail menu and the website.

Opening November 2008
Finally, we opened 30. Oktober 2008. With only 4 Bottles of spirits. After a while we had around 50 different spirits in our Bar.
BUILDING…
first i thought it would be easy to find worker to build all the Interior. But it wasn’t. So, my Partner and Me did all by our self. From the toilets to build in the Bar, Water, Electricity and so on.
PLANING…
the Idea was to create a cosy stylish atmosphere because the Location wasn’t that big.

… DEUTSCH: Mitte August 2008 kam ich auf die glorreiche Idee eine Bar in Bangkok zu eröffnen. Als Flugbegleiter war ich sehr oft hier. Manche lieben Bangkok manche hassen Bangkok. Ich habe mich hier immer gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Das anmieten war noch recht einfach, und es sollte doch auch kein Problem sein Handwerker zu finden. Nach dem es dann doch nicht so einfach war, entschieden, ich und mein thailändischer Partner (ohne Thai geht gar nichts) alles selbst zu machen. Das dauerte dann auch gut 2 Monate. Die gesamte Planung, kaufen von Toiletten, Kabeln, Wasserrohren usw. und dann natürlich alles einbauen. hu hu, das war ein ziemlicher Kraftakt. Aber wir haben es vollbracht! Eigentlich war noch nicht alles fertig, aber wir eröffneten dann am 30.10.2008. Es lief langsam an. Aber wir wurden gut angenommen. Sylvester 2008/09 hatten wir dann unsere erste Probe. Es war die Hölle los. Von da an ging es stetig bergauf. Nach und nach perfektionierten wir das Interior und unsere Cocktails. 2009 waren wir dann fester Bestandteil der zu besuchenden Lokale. weiteres folgt……
